Youtube is great platform for learning new skills and experiencing new hobbies.There are thousands and thousands of content creators on Youtube dedicating their craft so that you, the viewer, can extract as much quality entertainment from them. Music, is one of the biggest category on Youtube, so much as that Youtube even has its own streaming platform called Youtube Music. Channels which pour out tutorials on how to play an instrument are growing everyday - which brings us to our list of the top 5 piano channels on this platform.


1. Rousseau

Rousseau provides a rather cinematic experience when watching his piano tutorials. It makes learning far more interesting as we immerse ourselves into the music, colours and the clean, satisfying bird's eye view of the piano itself. The visual effects as he touches a key further adds onto the experience as we become mesmerised by it. This channel continuously provides quality content and piano tutorials, and is also beginner-friendly as it visually shows you which notes and keys are being used in a composition. If you are a classical music lover, then this channel is the perfect one for you.


2. Karim Kamar


Karim Kamar is a Neo Classical pianist & composer from London. He has been performing as a solo pianist since 2013 and has performed at almost every major music venue in London including: The Jazz Cafe, The Roundhouse, Ronnie Scotts, Southbank Centre and The Royal Albert Hall. If you are into pop music and movie & film soundtracks, then this channel has a lot to give. What makes this channel unique is that Kamar provides many different arrangements of a piece. Jova Musique's channel is similar to that of Rousseau, in which you can learn to play the piano visually. However, Jova Musique focuses on providing piano tutorials on songs that are modern, popular and trendy. This includes K-pop and mainstream music from the biggest pop stars such as Ariana Grande, Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift. This is perfect for the younger audience who would like to learn the trendiest songs on the piano.


4. MangoldProject


MangoldProject provides an in-depth lesson on playing the piano. He covers topics such as piano knowledge & understanding, music theory, piano exercises & chords and progressions. If you need help with technique, practice or even just where to begin, MangoldProject has it all covered for you. He also teaches and exposes us to legendary musical artists such as John Coltrane, Bill Evans etc and explains the unique chords and harmonics that they often use in their music. 5. Hoffman Academy



In contrast to the last 4 channels, Hoffman Academy takes on a more traditional approach, and targets the younger audience and adult beginners. Each lesson is between 5 and 15 minutes—easy to fit into any schedule, and the ideal length for keeping attention and focus high. This channel is great for those with completely no experience in playing the piano , and for those who would love to work and learn from home. It claims to “offer the most complete foundation in music you can find online”, and covers everything from technique to music theory.

 

Zoe is an avid fan of all kinds of music. Her primary instrument is the guitar but she is always passionately learning how to play other instruments such as the drums and keyboard. She is currently playing the bass guitar in a band and has been routinely involved in music since she was a child.
